GEO Business is where the geospatial community comes together – 100+ companies, one shared purpose: turning location data into insight that means something.
This year, Get Kids into Survey joins the line-up with a different kind of ambition: building the workforce that’ll keep it all moving.
For anyone meeting you for the first time, who are you and what problem are you helping the industry solve?
Get Kids into Survey is a global outreach initiative designed to introduce young people to the world of surveying and geospatial careers. Through engaging educational posters, comics, classroom resources, and industry-supported activities, we help children understand how surveyors measure and map the world; from building cities and monitoring the environment to flying drones and creating digital models.
The problem we help the industry solve is awareness. Many young people, parents, and teachers simply don’t know that surveying exists as a career, despite it being essential to infrastructure, technology, and environmental management. By introducing these concepts early and in a fun, accessible way, we help the industry build a future talent pipeline and ensure the next generation understands the importance of geospatial science.
