Ross is a Chartered Surveyor (since 2005) with a degree in Surveying and Mapping Science from Newcastle University. He began his career in the offshore industry before moving onshore into measured building surveying, where he built broad experience across projects ranging from smaller residential schemes to large prestigious estates.

Ross is currently Head of Survey at Plowman Craven, where he supports the development of surveyors, improves working practices, and helps deliver a wide range of projects across multiple sectors. He also serves on the TSA Council, contributing to raising standards and the profile of the geospatial profession, and is currently progressing his CICES application.
